All I have to do is add the struts between the long tube and the square tube.

These make sense to me. Bends out the way instead of breaking something pricey

I was thinking the bump-out would be for the front of the van, to act as a step for the front passengers.

Christopher Thwaites fab'd a similiar solution that I really like. He built steps that fold up when they hit something. Gravity keeps them down. Simple and slick. Now if I can just convince him to build me a set....

Re: running boards, hoops, rock rails??? Suggestions and pi

Broncohauler, you read my mind, when I put them on I thought the same thing. So the next pair I make will have the bump out at the front AND the rear and the connector bar between them, I think that would look good (and functional)

@Lizard the cost (edited) until I see about a hobbyist vendor statis

I'm still trying to figure a good/solid way to attach them, just using the pinch seam is not strong enough. The up riggers on the yellow van sliders would be good and I'm leaning towards that for all the sliders.

Cowboy4x4,

You could always do a test fit by swapping the driver's for passenger's, and vice versa to see how the step might work out.

As for a Vendor tag, there's a Hobbyist Vendor tag, and a Commercial Vendor tag. A hobbyist being someone who's just selling something "on the side", and not making a living at it. Long ago we decided that if someone is going to push a product, they need to be identified as having a financial interest in the item they are pushing.

Jage can get you set up with a Vendor tag, and teach you the secret handshake at that time. I'd suggest PM'ing him with your situation and intent. Give him a few days to respond, as he's out of town.
