SMB 2008 Ford E350 van drivers side window

Hey Folks, can someone please help me with an issue I’m having with the drivers side power window.
So today when I rolled it down it stopped 2-3 inches from going all the way. I got on the internet and starting searching and figured out how to remove the door shell to get at the window module. I also tried silicone spray on the tracks and now it does go all the way up and down but sounds like it’s catching. So here’s my question does any one have a photo of the inside of the door or know what this part is and where it goes. I don’t want to remove the passenger side shell/skin just to see what’s messing up. I am including a picture of a part that I found just laying inside the door shell. Obviously this is broke and I also included a video of the catching sound it is making. if any one can help me with how to fix this I would be super grateful.

Hey everybody we fixed it. The part in the picture is a window guide that had broken off its bracket. We welded it back on the bracket greased up the tracks and it works perfectly. We also think the window tinting guys could have broke it and left it but it’s fixed now- halelujah.

Too funny.....when I bought my 2008 every time I slammed the door it would rattle..took it apart and found the same part.....welds let loose....

...it's still off, but it's only noticeable when closing the driver's door with the window down.

Thanks for sharing and if I had been a little more patient you could have told us how to figure it out.

haha.....you'd still be waiting..the broken piece is somewhere in the garage....

I'll just end up replacing the whole regulator at some point.

I just replaced the window regulator in my Crown Vic. That was a pain, had to drill out 5 rivets to get the old one out.

While you had your interior door skin off, it would have been a great time to throw some Dynamat on the metal door panel.

Hey! I got that Cracker Jack toy in my 2006 door too! It’s the glass rear edge guide. Seems like they all suffer from the same manufacturer flaw. My unit has been disassembled and waiting for me to weld the bracket back to the track (as soon as I learn to weld).

The left end of the bracket is the top and the clip slips onto a mounting point that is attached to the base of the rear window track that continues above door skin.

I circled the bolt holding the bracket in your pic. The edge guide has a part number so, I would imagine that you could order from ford, find one in a salvage yard, make a repair, or just do what I and boywonder did, ignore it. It’s been almost 2 year for me.

Edit: Sorry just read you solved. Not sure why I did not see it before responding.

Hey man you’re awesome and so cool for responding with all the right answers and pictures and a funny one “Cracker Jack Toy I love the SMB community and am starting feel like I can fix anything that breaks with this sites members help. Just yesterday I had a airbag light on because I have been spinning my passenger seat around and broke a wire to the yellow connnector. I jumped our site and searched and boom found out the cause and the fix - yesssss niceeee. Keep rocking brother - when I used to try and BS my grandma she would say just cause you put frosting on SH*# it’s not a cake.
