What size ?

Hello guys,

Does someone know how wide is the underneath space between main frame and body border (as sketched on the picture below)?

Is this width the same for both sides of the van? And how long is it?

Already thank you !

Re: What size ?

Viejo, you're definitly right, since you maybe didn't read my preceding threads.

My concern is for a 2010 Ford E350 Extended. Thanks!

Re: What size ?

Hi pschitt
at a 2001 RB (E350) it is 30cm and the length is 140cm (from the first body stringer to the leaf). Then the rear leaf springs begining so you have than only about 15cm
But you have also a stringer in the rear so the high is sometimes different.
right side is the same but the high is less because of the side door frame
1" = 2,54cm ;-)
I think RB and EB is same, year of builting i do not know if it is same

Re: What size ?

No. Under left side, I want to install an air compressor with a few gallons tank and I guess that OEM batteries are installed under right side. My concern was to possibly install a Webasto DualTop down there but there is not enough width... Never mind, I will find another place.

Re: What size ?

Dual Top is possible! But you have to make a cutout in the inner body (like SMB did for the propan gas tank)
Here a pic of the rebuilting process because i took out the propan tank. If you like i can make other pics of it.

Re: What size ?

Width of DualTop is 14'' (36cm), so it's wider as the undernaeth width. But maybe with such a cut of inner body, it will fit in this place.
Yes, I would be interested with other pictures if you have some. Thanks!

Re: What size ?

Yes i know the 36cm and i messured it at mine. It works!
I am also thinking on a dual top. It is the best also for me but much too expensive :-(
I will send you some pics via PM. It will take some time because i am not at home tomorrow.
Let me know more of your plans! I am also in the planing phase and like to get input ;-)
