Wheel/Tire for 2wd Lifted van

Hello,

As I'm getting closer to the purchase of a 6" WTD lift on my 2wd 5.4 liter class b, I'm wondering about the best wheel/tire combo for me.

I really dig the look of the beastly 4wd diesel van wheels and tires. Esp guys that go with massive 315's / 35s and up.

Could my measly 5.4 move all that weight or is it wisest for me to stick with 33s? My van is a majestic tourer with a giant hightop. I feel that even with 33s, my rig will still look like a rollerskate.

I'd like to go with BFG KO2s. Rear diff regearing advice is welcome too.

Thanks all

What gearing do you have now?

I have the wtd lift on my heavy eb smb. I run the 33" ko2 with no problem. I'm stock gearing with the 5.4. I wouldn't go with 35 unless I regear at the same time. I don't have a power issue with the 33s and stock gearing, but 35 night be a little bit of a dog, but it also depends on your van outfit!

All the Majestic Tourer II vans that I have seen have 3.73 gears. I don't think 3.55 was common in 5.4L vans either.

We typically install 4.10 to 4.56 gears in Class B vans with 5.4L.

Be careful with anything much bigger than a 33 with the 2wd lifts as you will need to do fender clearancing or replace the stocks with Glassworks fiberglass versions (WTD has them). Also note that the stock rear end is narrow and you will need wheel spacers to keep the wheels from hitting the insides of the wheel wells (and a sliding door mod for anything wider than the stock wheel/tire combo).

Thanks REDOVAL, Ramsey, derpo and crew for the wisdom.

I've decided on 33s, the van will get its makeover next week. Pumped!
