Bicycle covers

What bicycle covers work best with bikes mounted on top of the deluxe box? We have a Thule rack that holds the bikes horizontal to the ground. Seeking durability, coverage, and ease of use. Have 2 road bikes to cover, and want to leave the wheels on.
Most of the mud gets thrown up from underneath the bikes, so the cover needs to protect that area.
Not concerned about see through panels for brake lights, as the bikes are up high. Want something that stays waterproof; reviews suggest that many lose their waterproofing after a bit of use.

For the folks reusing BBQ covers, how well does that work.

For a custom cover, recommend anyone in Jackson, WY?

Thanks for advising!

Re: Bicycle covers

I had a custom cover made for a scope that used the material truckers use on their loads. Stuff lasts forever, is water proof, and the sun barely puts a dent in it. I'm sure you could find a tent and awning shop that could meet your needs.

Bicycle covers

Another idea is to go to a motorcycle shop/catalog. I've got a motorcycle cover that would probably work great for 2 bikes on racks side by side that I bought years ago for maybe $40. They are usually sun and rain proof and vented, and they have elastic around the bottom so you might not even need to bungee.

Good idea.....I've seen Honda Goldwings that have covers on them that hide 2-3 bikes with ease.
