Cargo trailer

Can anyone recommend a good quality cargo trailer for towing with the SMB?
Ideally I need twin axle but short maybe 10-12 feet long.
We have some heavy display stuff to carry to the shows.

Re: Cargo trailer

I have been researching cargo trailers for a month. I am looking for a quality trailer that will be able to go to Alaska and bring a motorcycle, two kayaks, bicycles, etc. There are some amazingly nice trailer companies, like ATC and Featherlite. These are very expensive and probably too nice to haul up to Alaska. Wells Cargo makes a very good cargo trailer and offers lots of options and sizes. I'm probably going to go with Wells Cargo (Wells Cargo Wells Cargo, not Wells Cargo Road Force or Wells Cargo Fast Track which are their more value priced lines). I've looked at Haulmark, Interstate, Look, Diamond Cargo, and Pace and I think the value in Wells Cargo merits the price.

Re: Cargo trailer

Triton makes nice small single and dual axle trailers. You can even build it to your specs online.

My own idea of a good gear trailer for my needs is this.
It will hold 3 dirtbikes or 2 street motorcycles (I hope). It has electric, propane, heat, cooling and can be ordered with a top rack too, which I did not order.
Its a bit more than the basic cargo trailer.
Not sure if this has the length needed for the long open water kayaks (102" to the cabinets).
It is built to order so it may be available without cabinets too.

Micro-Lite Cargo-Lite Extreme. I get it on Friday!

Re: Cargo trailer

I like that dual purpose trailer. Typically, dual purpose means that it doesn't fill either role really well, but rather that it fills each role OK. For me, that's a compromise I'm willing to accept unless I have a hard-core requirement for something. I can't afford too many single use items.

Re: Cargo trailer

If you will be taking the trailer off-pavement, and its a tandem-axle, be sure it has leaf-springs and not rubber torsion springs. Rubber torsion springs have no equalizing ability, which really bounces them around off-road vs leaf springs which can "walk" over bump and holes. The lack of equalizing also make tire damage more likely (been there many times).
