Looking forward to installing mine. Bicycles on the front, moto rack or snowmobile trailer on the rear.

Ya, it's such a cheap add but gives you so much flexibility. With 500 lbs tongue weight, I won't be carrying a Harley, but plenty of other stuff will fit. Good luck with yours!

not all bikes racks work all that well on front. my handlebars end up right in my line of sight. still doable for in town/close rides, but it would drive me bananas on a road trip. actually have my winch in it more than anything else. regardless, very handy option to have available.

^^^ Oh, man, that's too bad. I guess mine is lower than some.

Haven't put a winch in it yet (mo money), but did pick up a couple of shackles and a 10K strap, just in case...

not a big deal honestly. just making it known that even if all the puzzle pieces can go together, it doesn't always work out in the end, lol.

we put our winch on a caddy so it can be used front and back. its been used more times in back than in front

best use totally unrelated to vans was gathering firewood one year. trees uphill are always gone, but theres usually plenty downhill. we cut a few down, used the winch to pull them up to the road and I just kept going dragging them up the road and left them just past the trailer. at the end of the day we used my extension/riser to mount trailer and leave winch in place, then used the winch to pull all the 16' logs onto the trailer. easiest day of wood gathering ive ever had

Hey, that's a great idea. I switched over to gas, so we're not hauling firewood anymore, but sure could've used a setup like that back in the day. We used to go up to Mt. Hood for the day with chain saws and cut up enough firewood for the winter. It was a longggggg day.

Is your caddy something like this one?

more or less, yes. not quite as fancy, but we did incorporate a hook into ours as a recovery point.

used plugs like this for connectors. carful ordering, lots of sizes out there!

seems photobucket is down right now...

I actually just took off my front hitch. Never really use it. Figured why haul around the extra weight up front. I was leaving it on as recovery point (I'm 2WD), but will probably just install a tow hook somewhere. I was also concerned about it negating the E-vans' already pathetic crumple zone in the front.
