Re: Hitch advice?

Draw Tite sent me some not-to-scale drawings of the 41926 and 41906 and looks like either will fit. I just ordered the 41926 (Amazon!?) so we'll see how it goes - the design just looks a lot tidier, and it is 5lb lighter. It does look like it is dropped down a few inches, and I think it will be way under the Aluminess bumper and hard to reach.

My big issue right now is I don't have the Ford 7 pin connector mounting bracket, because the old hitch had a built in panel for it.

Has anyone either drilled a larger hole in their Aluminess for it, or where is your trailer connector bracket mounted? It isn't like I would want it LOWER than the hitch crossbar....

Re: Hitch advice?

Ok the 41926 fit up perfectly. Nice hitch, slightly lighter and no drilling required. Tube cross section is bigger than the 41906. Tons of clearance to XL.

Would love pics of 7pin connector bracket location under Aluminess bumpers.

Re: Hitch advice?

I've since added a 4 pin hardwire along side. Nothing special to the location.

Re: Hitch advice?

OK, turns out I came up with a pretty tidy solution, will post pics when done.
