Ideas for carrying Kayaks

Does anybody have any good ideas for carrying kayaks? I have a E350 that has a voyager top.....with a solar panel mounted on top. I,ve heard about Thule (hullavator), but wasn't sure if this would allow me to transport the kayaks safely along the upper side of the van. If anyone has used this carrier in this matter or has any suggestions, it would be appreciated.

Jeff

I use the Hullavator to carry on OC1 outrigger canoe on top of my lifted Quigley. They make loading a one person job, only a small step ladder needed. I have the kayak mounts for the hulavators sitting in the garage, if you need them. I will try to get you some pictures tomorrow. I would highly recommend them.
There is a pic on my IG jim_oleson

Thank you for the pictures. I've attached a couple of pictures showing how my van is setup from the outside. I measure the distance from the ground to the top, which measured a little under 10'. I'll have to be pretty creative to rig something up. I also have a awning to contend with on the passenger side.

Thanks again for offering your thoughts.

Maybe try rigracks.net
They do customs racks and have designed racks for high top sprinters to carry OC1s

My wife and I went a different route. After quite a bit of research, we bought a Sea Eagle Fast Track 385 inflatable kayak. Not cheap but paddles great with either solo or two person. Tracks great. We put it into an ice hockey goalie gear bag and just put it inside the van. My wife has a Hobie inflatable kayak that she loves but it is too big for bringing in the van easily. We have a Thule box on top, so life jackets, seats, paddles etc can go up there. Some trips we bring mountain bikes, some trips the kayak, and some trips both.

We went with an inflatable Sea Eagle as well. We also have a couple of inflatable SUP's.
