I rode a new GS1200 a few years ago and was really surprised at how much torque it had and how nimble it was once you got it moving. I'd definitely consider a used one. They're growing on me

I'm sticking with my R100gs. Its easy to fix on the side of the road using a rock, a stick and a bit of mud and it'll run on just about anything remotely related to gas. The brakes suck, but it's so down on power it hardly matters.

Mason jar of moonshine... some for me... some for you... some for me... some for you...

I'm having an internal debate over a KTM 300 2-smoke or a 450F as a trail decimator. I don't know if they are fixable with a stick and/or rock, but I don't think you need a doctorate to repair them either.

Yup, just not as often as I'd like. The GS only needs a new battery and it's ready to go.

Go for a 300. They're so cheap it's like cheatin'. And you just put one in 3rd gear and you don't need to ever clutch or shift. Ride all day, up walls, 75 mph, whatever. Amazing old bikes.
