Re: Thinking of purchasing a tow rig

I've thought about getting a side by side UTV. But a Samurai is way cheaper, goes almost the same places, and it's street legal! What's not to like?

Cool. I like that one better except the color. The white one would be a perfect 'mini me' behind your van.

Re: Thinking of purchasing a tow rig

But how far can you go on those little green 16oz Coleman propane cylinders?

Those two are very different applications of the same rig. One as a get around campsite/town rig, one as a trail rig. How you plan on using should make your decision for you.

Or, buy them both and flip one of them.

Re: Thinking of purchasing a tow rig

Very cool. Seems you can register just about anything in OR. I'm jealous.

Re: Thinking of purchasing a tow rig

Nice! That Doka looks to be in great shape. Would love to have one of those.

So, what are you waiting for, it even comes with its own tow bar.

Cheers,
Brent

Sweet indeed. But no way for $36k. I still can't get my head around the prices for synchro VWs.

Pretty much, as long as federal restrictions aren't breached (i.e. importing newer foreign cars, or converting a newer dirt bike with non-EPA motor). DMV will register home-built cars as long as lighting regs are met. You can even register open cockpit racecars as "Race-Activity Vehicles" (as long as it has a tube frame and push-rod suspension) and drive them up to 100 miles to or from a racing venue. Now, you can't drive with a broken windshield, but you can drive without a windsheld! Saw one truck in town last summer (Silverado) that rolled so he just sawz-alled the entire cab and drove it completely topless!
