Trailer brake controller install

I went to install my trailer brake controller using the instructions and pictures on the forum, and could not find the pigtail to plug the controller into. There is a pigtail in the location shown in the installation instructions on this forum, but it's already being used??? Has anyone else run into this problem? I have a wheelchair lift in my SMB and I'm wondering if this is what is plugged into the pigtail. That's what my mechanic thinks may have happened since he can't find it either.

Why would the lift use the trailer pigtail?

For power maybe? It also has some safety features that keep it from operating when the vehicle is in gear, or the parking brake is not set, but I wouldn't think any of these safety features would have anything to do with the trailer pigtail

That's what I was thinking. I'd be curious to find out.

It may still be in there somewhere. When I went to install a brake controller there was another connector that looked just like it that was being used. The connector for the controller was really wedged behind a bunch of things including stuff SMB added.

Unplug the connector and see if the lift still works.

Also if you're looking at my writeup I found a pigtail or two that looked EXACTLY like the trailer plug, one with stuff and one without. I can't remember if I put it in my writeup but I have photos of the wrong one. Let me know.
