Yakima's website isn't helping.......

Hey guys, i'm wondering what the bases are for Yakima/Thule crossbars that you mount, weld, or bolt to your Aluminess boxes or fiberglass roofs? I have lots of Yakima/Thule stuff and am home-building a hitch rack/box which i'm gonna put some Yakima bars and bike racks on, but i need to know the names of the towers that you flat mount? I have looked on Yakima's site but they change names/part numbers now and then and i'm not looking for new necessarily. I usually start with CL or Ebay for that kind of stuff. Are they just Control Towers or are there other names?

Thanks

I use the Yakima track system below. Very strong and you have the option of mounting multiple bars and moving them easily along the tracks according to your needs. This is my roof system. What are you mounting to the box? If its bike attachments, I would directly mount the attachment probably. Thule T2 upright carriers are awesome for this because they have a square base.

Thanks, I'll check em out. I already have some 48 cross bars and am wanting to use them on bases mounted to an angle iron box I'm building. I kind of want to use the bars with attatchments on them so I can add/remove trays etc. as needed.

I posted some horrible pictures taken on my phone to my gallery. Links are below if you want to see how I did my box. I can send some better photos if it's helpful. Good luck.
