1992 Dodge RB Sportsmobile w/ Penthouse Top

This is the classic Sportsmobile layout, with the Penthouse roof. No sink or bath, we carry water in 3 gallon jugs. There is room for a porta-potty, but I prefer not to carry one.
Gaucho couch that folds out to sleep 2 more downstairs. House battery for lights and accessories while parked up, fridge that runs from the battery or shore power.
Will include cooktop, and everything you need to head into the wilderness. New curtains and lots of recent attention, including steam cleaning.
Clean, strong running Class B Dodge camper by the premier manufacturer. We have used it a bunch in the last year, and just upgraded to a 4wd version.
1992 3/4 Ton Dodge Chassis, 318 ci v-8, gets 13-15 mpg, good tires, no issues. 173k miles.
$6200
Vehicle is in San Francisco, CA

Re: 1992 Dodge RB Sportsmobile w/ Penthouse Top

Here are a couple more photos I took this week.

I took off the running boards a few months ago, as it's not a high clearance vehicle, and is easy to get in and out of...

The Gaucho folded out... It has 3 seatbelts.

Pantry and big cupboard aft of the Gaucho.

New curtains upstairs. Thanks Mom!

Tows a small trailer nicely.

No bold stripe- I consider that a bonus on this vintage.

Re: 1992 Dodge RB Sportsmobile w/ Penthouse Top

Thanks, DaveB...Carnegie it is. Good eye. Nice pictures, too. Just lost a half hour checking out your 4x4 Sportsmobile site, as the replacement for this truck is a Quigley EB SMB with a Voyager top. We are hoping to get out and do a little boondocking this weekend. Any recommendations given the time of year? We were thinking about Indian Valley Reservoir...

Re: 1992 Dodge RB Sportsmobile w/ Penthouse Top

That's a nice run from Clear Lake to Indian Valley. The fire up there took a toll and I wouldn't want to run it if it was wet due to slides but on a bike it would probably be fine. Everything I do nowdays is behind a windshield unless it's on good pavement From where you're at, Frank Raines Park might be a OK OHV place to look at. It's a place I've never really explored much but would like to one of these days. I've had to work up there but haven't been too far into the back country unless I was following a power line. Another is Red Hills and although kind of barren, it's not too bad at this time of year as the grasses are turning green. It's BLM land. You can also look into Anderson Flat off 132 above Coulterville. It's close to The Old Coulterville Trail and Bull Creek for added exploring. Anderson is a campground so it might not be what you're after. There is an isolated camp on the way in along Bull Cr that is a bit trashy but nice. I doubt anybody would be at Andersen but there are many spots along ther upper Bull Cr Rd (AKA Burma Grade Rd/Briceburg Rd) to boon Dock at.

Good luck on the sale of you van and purchase of a new one.

Dave

"Tinkerbell" is still available. Just not getting any use since we got "Thunderball"
Took the new rig up to Usal Beach this week.

anybody know the best way to get rid of the stripes? Vinyl wrap?

Re: 1992 Dodge RB Sportsmobile w/ Penthouse Top

I like your new rig (have high top envy now). Classic late 1990's SMB striping. You may already know this, but the striping is painted on, with a clear coat over it (vs. the more common vinyl decals). This means they are probably shiny and in great shape; but also means you can't simply remove them with a "stripe off" wheel or similar (as you could with vinyl).

I've embraced my inner Miami Dolphin (but then since I have a PH top, I only have one, simple horizontal stripe).

Re: 1992 Dodge RB Sportsmobile w/ Penthouse Top

Be thankful you only have the horizontal stripe and not the dreaded "upsweep" like my EB van has. See my thread at viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10187

This spring I'm dealing with my stripe in some way. Either just painting over the upsweep, or possibly the entire stripe. I don't mind the horizontal stripe as much.

USAL beach; so the road in there wasn't too wet for 4x2? It's one nice place and I want to go back.

Good luck on your sale. Just come back and bump the thread from time to time.
