1997 Chevrolet Sportsmobile

We have a friend that is interested in our 1997 Chevrolet 2500 Sportsmobile with the following features:
- 62,430 miles (this is the correct number... my last post was incorrect at 72K miles)
- 5.7 l v8
- Short wheelbase
- Sportsmobile popup top
- Sink & water tank with electric pump
- Small refridgerator
- Starcool
- 2 batteries for 12v systems (+ regular van battery)
- No propane system
- Grey water tank
- Canvas is in good shape.... there are a few mildew stains, but nothing serious
- Its a single isle layout with cabinets down one side and a counter on the other.

There is some minor damage to the right front fender and the clearcoat is coming off of the fiberglass top. There were some previous body repairs from minor damage. Runs very well.

Asking $8500 OBO
Located in Los Gatos CA (near San Jose)

Are you selling it to your friend or here?

Re: 1997 Chevrolet Sportsmobile

this is a newbie question but when you say "no propane", does that mean that the systems only run on electricity or battery? I'm new to the camper world so don't know the ins and outs. Also, could the refrig or other things (heater?) be retrofitted to run off of solar?

just curious,
SJ

No propane means fridge runs off electricity. You will need camp stove for cooking. Most SMB owners get solar installed to help batteries. A lot use inverters to change 12 volt (battery) power to 110 ac to run microwaves and electric hot water heaters. Just to give quick answer.

2-way fridges and camp stoves are what I'd choose anyway. I have propane but only for my heater and h/w heater. It's unlikely it has either of those without propane.

You might want to clean up the outside a little and take some better pictures.

Wow. Chill. I believe Mr. Henrietta was simply stating that you have a van for sale, which many helpful people on here are glad to help you sell, but you don't have a full side view of the van, you don't have a view of the top up, the van has obviously been sitting and is covered with dirt and bird crap, and the floor hasn't even been vacuumed. How can anyone assess the condition of a van seeing so little of it?

If you put a free classified ad on a public forum try to remember that it is open for comment. Anything on a forum is the business of anyone reading that forum.

Personally, I can't help you any further. I won't read any response you have to what I've said. I am done. I would've helped, but now I'm off to mind my own business. Best of luck to you.
