I have an extended body (EB) Mercedes-Benz Sprinter high roof (HR) van that has been converted into a custom RV by Sportsmobile Texas. It has 67k miles, over 90% of which are highway since I have criss-crossed the country many times. I have $82.5k into it and it books at $65k, so I am asking $65k or best offer. Some highlights:
-Super efficient Bluetec 3.0L diesel engine gets 20 mpg, yet still has plenty of torque (325 ft-lbs)
-4" of the highest R-value spray foam insulation on all surfaces (see last pic). Sportsmobile Texas said they have done over 5,000 vans, and this was the best insulated they'd seen. I have had this van in -23 F and 112 F, and both times was able to keep it at 70 degrees.
Top of the line components throughout:
-Two Lifeline GPL-4DL 210 AH batteries, for a total of 520 amps including the vehicle's 100 AH battery
-Magnum 2000W Pure sinewave inverter/charger
-40" Samsung LED flat panel TV
-13.5K BTU Dometic low profile roof AC
-3000W Powertech diesel generator (under chassis)
-Two 225 watt solar panels (provides all electrical needs except AC when in sunny areas)
-Super efficient Isotherm Cruise 130 4 CF marine refrigerator with only 1 moving part (much more reliable than standard RV fridges)
-Webasto Air Top 2000 diesel furnace works at sea level and over 10,000 feet without adjustment (I've had it as high as 11,000 feet and it worked fine)
-1100W Dometic RV microwave
-Shurflo Whisper Quiet water pump
-Insinkerator 152 2.5 gallon water heater
-30 gallon fresh water tank, 15 gallon grey water tank - all tanks are inside to prevent freezing in extreme cold temps
-36x24" shower with sink & Thetford 465 porta potty (4 gallon fresh water & 5.5 gal black water tanks)
-Open space in rear for multiple bikes, snowboards/skis, golf clubs (that's what's in there now, can be used for anything)
-79" Gaucho that goes from couch to full size bed
-Three closets with adjustable shelves & four additional cabinets for plenty of storage
There's probably more but that's all I can think of for now. Essentially, this RV was designed with two things in mind. First, it needed to be able to be "off the grid" for a week at a time, and with the 30 gallon water tank, solar panels and generator, that is easily accomplished. Second, it needed to be able to camp in extreme temperatures, which is why I had the high R-value spray foam done before I brought it to Sportsmobile, as they don't offer that insulation. As an added bonus, the cargo van style without windows means it doesn't really look like an RV (it is considered a "stealth" RV), meaning you can park it in a lot of towns/cities that don't allow RVs on the street, or avoid the wrath of HOAs. It is easy to add windows if you want them. In addition, the furnace & generator are both diesel and tied into the vehicle's tank, so there is no need to worry about propane or any other fuel - simply keep the van full and you are good to go.
Known issues:
-Front tires are near their wear bars, will have to be replaced in the next 5-10k miles. Rears are good.
-Several of the cabinet latches need adjusting.
-I just replaced the rear pads and didn't get the brake quiet stuff quite right & it makes some noise - it needs more/better brake quiet, the pads are brand new.
-The SRS (Safety Restraint System) light started coming on whenever you shift your weight in the driver's seat - I suspect this is a faulty sensor on the driver's seat and probably won't bother fixing it before it is sold.
Other than that, it is in perfect working condition.
I am selling because I am going overseas for a few years and would rather get what it's worth now instead of having the tires/hoses/etc. dry out, rot, and otherwise stop working (I've had bad luck with every vehicle I've left sitting for a long time in the past).
If interested send me a pm or give me a ring at (number623 hidden 203in text7340 to prevent auto callers).
Cheers,
Graydon
