Aluminess Baja Box - for sale

I have a slightly used Baja Box for sale. I ordered my SMB with this box, but reconfigured it last year with the double galley box so I could move my bikes from the top to the back. I live in southwest Colorado, so anyone near would be easy. Not sure how much UPS or FedEx ground would cost. If anyone is interested please contact me off-line.

Hello Vanzilla. I don't need a Baja Box, but I could use a picture of the bottom of the Baja Box on how it attaches to the Aluminess bumper tubes.

I ordered a Baja Box and Thule Hitching Post Pro4 bike rack last summer from Sportsmobile West to replace my Baja Basket, and they sent it without any installation instructions. There's no precut holes on the Baja Box or attachments to secure it on the Aluminess tubes.

Some things are better installed in Fresno at SMB West rather than mail ordering!

Hey Ed -

There really are no installation instructions. SMBw installed my new Double Galley and I had to redo it a few months later because it wasn't level.

Just set the Baja Box on the swing arm and reuse any holes you can. In most cases you will end up just drilling new ones. Typically the box will set level on the bottom, but you might need spacers in the back because of the lid. SMBw on my original Baja Box cut round plastic spacers and painted them black. On my Double Galley I didn't need the spacers because there is no top lid.

After the holes are drilled and the bolts are installed you will most likely need to cut the extra threaded bolt off. This will allow you to get the black plastic protective cap on.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Don! I just have to find a metal worker that can cut a few holes for me and I think I can get the Baja Box and Bike rack attached properly.
