Another what’s it worth 7.3

1997 Cargo RB E-350 7.3 52,xxx original miles, power windows, no cruise control. Aluminess front and rear. Rear Full float Dana 60 3:55. Vantage optic hid headlights New MB stone grey exterior paint, (Originally white) gutters cleaned and resealed as preventative measure. Dual swivel seats. Grey interior, alipine 7” touch screen head unit. Sound deadened throughout. Rear and side popout windows. Floor has been sealed and por-15 coated.

It was used in Texas on a gas company property as a mobile tool box. Very little corrosion on the underside.

Seeing what the community thought it was worth at this stage in its life.

Seems like a simple KBB valuation, plus the value of Aluminess bumpers. Other than that, not much to add value.

It’s seems a bit more complicated than that, KBB has it at highest side at $5k. That’s seems way off from the 7.3 market.

I’d sell the Aluminess separately and pick up a set of OEM bumpers cheap on CL or at a junkyard.

Hard to say exactly what its worth. About two years ago I bought my '03 7.3 E350 with 91k miles for $13.5k. no power options and a slider door. That was actually $1250 below asking price and I found the ad and contacted the seller literally hours after posting.

The van I tried to buy before that (about a month earlier), was a passenger 7.3 E350 with like 45k miles. I forget the year, but it was listed at $12.5k and someone flew out and agreed to pay $14.5k for it without even seeing the vehicle. I found that ad about 2 days after it posted so I was a little late.

Yours being a '97 definitely hurts the value but the miles are super low and it has barn doors and power windows which are two good, slightly harder to find options for the 7.3 cargo vans.

Location will play a factor as well, I am in CA where prices tend to be a bit higher. Long story short, I think the van itself is probably in the $10k-$12k range plus whatever you value the bumpers at.

I could be wrong regarding the year, but I know when I was looking specifically for a 7.3 I valued a 2003 the highest given it is the "newest" you could get it. Despite the low miles a 1997 is still a 22 year old vehicle.

There are far more experienced members than myself on this forum that might be able to provide further insight though.

I wont claim extensive knowledge on what the market will bear for this but considering it has the aluminess bumpers and given the sort of build I would want to do with it I would be comfortable paying around 15k for this (10k for the van and 5k for the bumpers/upgrades).

Mileage is certainly a factor to me but on the flip side the reputation of the 7.3 is well earned and I would not be afraid to buy a 7.3 with up to 200k and drive it across the country so while having such low mileage is a draw, were I looking at two vans with all else being equal and one had 50k and the other had 150k I wouldn't pay thousands more for the 50k one. I would save my money for the other work I wanted to do and buy the 150k one.

Certainly that is a subjective analysis but knowing what other money I would have to/want to put into this to make it what I want but that is where I personally would value it.

Ultimately if you are the seller you need to look at your investment, percentage you are comfortable losing, and how badly you need to sell it. IF you want to go higher than mid teens you will probably get it but you might wait weeks or even months for the right buyer to come along. If you go low to mid teens I think you will sell it fairly quickly

I agree with this statement. I would sell the Aluminess stuff separately and then list the van for $15k and see what kind of action you get. Take some good, clean pictures and a clearly written ad and it will sell.
