Chrome moly inserts

I am trying to reinforce my penthouse top with the chrome moly inserts. SMB Austin has 2 but I need 4. Apparently, California is out and no more will be made. Does anyone have 2 inserts extra?

Thanks

tom

Re: Chrome moly inserts

I think the newer (post 1995) arms are stronger (either bigger or reinforced). Mine bend a little too much. If I can't find any other OEM inserts, I may buy what they have and have something fabricated.

In keeping with a theme I am working on, I'll find a way to use duck tape to install them.....

OK, that don't sound so good... somebody should be able to make up something for ya. Do they stay bent or just flex?

Re: Chrome moly inserts

They stay a little bent, and I'm told it may get worse. SMB assures me they won't break. But as you can imagine, the spring pulling against a bent/bending pipe doesn't have quite the proper operation. I'd like to address it now rather than later.
