Re: Fiamma group buy??

The discounts for Fiamma Awnings greatly beat that of smaller companies like Aluminess. Our group buy was with a total of 15 people at one time and 10 additional at a later date due to custom sizes & colors. I paid 675 which included shipping and tax. I have a black 12' awning. Mine came with the standard brackets however I did not use them since it mounts to my rack with a custom mount that I Jerald Rigged.

I am interested in getting an aluminess group buy together also, but it seems like the savings vs hassle makes it better to just get them individualy. The cost of the bumpers had my last group split and most went to local fabricators/and road armor (why? I know) ... I am still holding out waiting for a good deal. PS PM me if you have a set to sell 2006 ford.

Re: Fiamma group buy??

Count me in for an awning too. As long as it's in the not too distant future. I'm in a hurry to get some cracks in the van body....

Re: Fiamma group buy??

Have you considered just getting an easy up shelter? We have one of there heavy duty 10'x10' shelters and find it much more versitile than a canopy. they are very durable easy to set up, even for one person, and they pack down to about 16"x16" by 3' or so. got ours on craigs list for $120 used. Just an option if your on a budget....

Re: Fiamma group buy?? bought one from smb west

As an alternative, that apparently doesn't have issues with cracks in the van and bracket failure, would there be interest in a Mombassa or CampingLab awning group buy?

http://www.camperize.com/awnings.html has a write up comparing awning options. Granted, it's only 79" wide, but it's lightweight, wellmade and significantly less expensive than the Fiama.

Anyone interested?
