For Sale: 1992 4x4 Sportsmobile (SOLD)

Finally found my next Sportsmobile on the forum, and am finally getting a chance to list my first SMB so I wanted to start it here. It will be really hard to let this one go after all of the awesome memories my family and I have had. Nonetheless, for sale is a 1992 E250 with four wheel drive. The 4x4 is amazing. The van turns on a dime and will go anywhere. Sleeps 4 and seats 10. 4 captains chairs on swivels in the front and a dinette that converts to a bed in the rear. The middle of the van has cabinets on both sides. A Norcold Fridge, on one side and porta potty is on the other with tons of storage left over. Front and Rear A/C both work great. Huge awning works perfectly. Day/Night Shades throughout and privacy curtains for front windows.

Interior and exterior are in great shape. The 1992 has the same body as the 2007, so with clean paint, and the custom wheels it looks as good as many much newer vans. I.e no one believes me when I tell them the age. This has always been a Southern California van so rust and some of the other issues plaguing other older vehicles are not a problem.

Roof has mounts for Thule Rack and uprights and cross bars will be added in to sale. The van also spent a short amount of time being towed behind a prior owners much larger RV, so for those interested it will come with a towing bar, and the van has a drive-shaft disconnect installed.

Check my gallery for photos (I will try to add more later today when I get it cleaned out).

New and Updated Items.
Custom Rims and Mickey Thompson 305/65r17 tires with 80% tread left.
New house and engine battery this spring.
New Kenwood Stereo with BT/Iphone connectivity.
New Alarm.
New speakers throughout.
Custom front hitch.
Front HID's mounted low enough to shine under a front mounted bike rack.

Engine is 351 v8 with only 31,000 miles. Engine runs great and is quiet enough to talk to your traveling companions.
Chassis has 111,000 miles.

Asking $22,000.

PM or email if you want to see more photos or have questions.

You should definitely buy it. Quit being a wuss driving a pickup and get a van like a man.

What 4x4 conversion?

A pickup? I should ban him!

Also, those are actually good looking van stripes.

Re: For Sale: 1992 4x4 Sportsmobile (Perfect First 4x4 SMB)

The van was converted by Advanced Four Wheel Drive out of Salt Lake. I am not sure but it seems this was just before Quigley got into it with SMB. At any rate I am perpetually amazed at how solid this thing is and how tight it turns. Way tighter than my Quigley did? Also we have always gotten great help from Advance whenever I call.

And yes he should buy it. Thanks for the encouragement.

Nice Rig!

Any propane (stove/furnace)?

Any inside pics?

Pretty much what I'm looking for...

Re: For Sale: 1992 4x4 Sportsmobile (Perfect First 4x4 SMB)

I am having the truck washed today before I take interior pics. Sorry couldn't get them yesterday.

The layout is basically a rb21 with the sink deleted and full height cabinet in its place on the the passenger side with the porta potty stored at the bottom.

Also noticed while driving it to the wash this morning that the mileage figures I stated were off by a few thousand. Apparently it was a good year. The correct mileage is 111,000 Chassis, 31,000 engine.

The bike rack is the Thule T-2 with the extension to carry 4 bikes.

The is no stove or propane in this rig. I never really missed it living in So Cal. We occasionally brought a little portable catalytic heater in the van when we were winter camping. Much cheaper solution and one fewer system to maintain. As to cooking you can ask most users and they will probably tell you the almost never cook inside anyway. Particularly if you are buying this van for a family and want the captains chairs. You don't likely want the mess inside. The newer van I just picked up is an EB27, still no stove, and my wife has already vetoed teeth brushing in the sink etc. My two cents.
