SOLD: 1997 V10 Agile 4x4 Sportsmobile Penthouse

So this is a little bittersweet.. For sale is Ramsey’s personal van.

For those that don’t know, Ramsey started Agile Offroad converting Ford Econolines to 4x4 using Dana 50 TTB axles. He was a genius at suspension, creating the RIP for Quigley converted vans that made them ride 1000% times better. And he was VERY active on this forum. Unfortunately he passed away suddenly in Baja a few years back, with his wife Jan at his side. She reached out to me a couple months ago, she was ready to sell his van..

I purchased it off Jan, and have cleaned up and fixed up various things.. Nothing major was wrong; needed tires, rear brake cylinders, and general powdercoat and cleanup. It had previously been lent to a family friend (a trophy truck builder in Southern CA), and he had taken care of it for the last few years. It got used sparingly, but he removed the old Agile wrap, did some paint work, rhinolined the penthouse, and took it to the dealer for routine maintenance a few times.

*1997 Sportsmobile EB12 (ish)

*116,927 miles

*Triton V10

*Sportsmobile manual poptop (new color matched ‘rhinoliner’ on top)

*Agile Offroad 4x4 conversion
-twin traction beam (TTB) independent front suspension (IFS)
-Dana 50 HD axle
-custom-valved Fox 2.0 Shocks front and rear
-touch button Borg Warner 1356 transfer case
-full-Float rear axle
-Fox steering stabilizer

*Brand new 315/70-17 BFG All Terrain KO2s (5)

*Hummer H2 wheels with new black powdercoat (5)

*Aerotanks 40+ gallon steel fuel tank

*Propane tank (frame mounted)

*2000W inverter

*3-way fridge with freezer

*Tons of storage

*pop out side windows (in passenger side doors)

*aftermarket (very comfortable) ‘Regency’ leather front captain’s chairs with swivels

*Reunel front bumper (I believe this to be a Reunel, not 100% sure)
-new black powdercoat
-12,000 lb winch with synthetic line, Factor 55 fairlead, Smittytbilt shackle mount
-Rigid D2 Flood LEDs

*Custom rear bumper
-new black powdercoat
-swing away tire rack
-aluminum cover over steel frame
-slide out platform (pretty cool!)

*Aftermarket Stereo
-Kenwood 6x9s in front doors
-New JVC KW-M750BT with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
-Two Kenwood amplifiers and subwoofer behind driver’s seat

The van is in mechanically great condition. It has new exterior paint a few years ago, with no body rust. Minimal surface rust on undercarriage.

Interior is part Sportsmobile and part custom wooden drawer system with fold down dinette bed. Water system (pump, tank, inlet) is still in place, but currently only hooked up to a hose in the bottom cabinet. Electrical system is in place as well, although battery is dead and I have not tested everything. Battery does charge when van running, but won’t hold a charge. Three way fridge (120v/12v/propane), also not tested. This is functional as a camper today, or perfect for customization for your needs.

Clean CA title in my name, passed smog a month ago, ready to go! $39,500
