SOLD: RB-50 SMB Interior

Hey everyone, yes this is crazy and something we’ve (maybe just me) talked about doing for a while, but I’ve decided it’s time to completely gut our rig and update/upgrade cabinets and appliances. I’m in the middle of the process of staging the interior so that it’s just partially disassembled, for now, I may completely tear it down for easier transport/storage. I have no idea what this would be worth, make me an offer, I have it listed on CL at $1500, local pickup only, will not ship. Great opportunity for the do-it-yourself builder looking for an interior.

Please keep this thread relevant to finding this stuff a new home, I will start a separate build thread on everything I’m planning on doing, tear down and will post pics as we make progress with the new interior, super excited! Thanks!

The lowdown-
2003 SMB RB-50 interior cabs/appliances

Swivel spot lights w/LED bulbs

Rear cab/magazine rack unit

8 lb.? under carriage propane tank

YES it is CRAZY. How much more upgraded do you need to be? Sounds
like a mid-life crisis or is it that you've been living at elevation for too

Thats going to make someones day! $1500 is a hell of a deal. The fact the cabinets are already cut to fit the Ford van body should make this a quick sale.
Personally though, for that price, i'd tear them each down and make templates of each piece, then sell the templates for other DIY'ers at a reasonable price - I can see how this would/could help a lot of people.

Let's be careful with this idea. I understand the enthusiasm behind it, but quite frankly it is duplicating (ripping off) SMB's design. While hardly groundbreaking in their design, the design does belong to SMB.

You have a valid point, I had only taken into consideration the "convenience of design" for others interested in building out their own.

REF, good luck selling the interior package as a whole... but if you are willing to piece it out, I'm interested in the rear cab/magazine shelf unit. Could pick up locally.

Very true. Did not quite think about that. I know it's trial an error with interior builds but for less crafty people it would be pretty awesome if there was a diy kinda kit for galleys and door galleys that did not cost a arm n leg

Now that this thread has been completely derailed, I feel comfortable adding this link to an article about a builder in SoCal that does exactly this. Saw this article:

http://www.curbed.com/platform/amp/2...-rb-components

Here's a link to the builder, https://rbcomponents.com

Just saw the pricing... gonna need lots of arms and legs.

I can totally see an opportunity in making Ikea like knockdown cabinet kits for Sprinters and Transits if not Econolines.
