FS: Offroad Adventure Trailer

FOR SALE:
2003 Adventure Sports Products SRT1 offroad cargo trailer.
30 cu ft storage with locking lid.
Gel coated Fiberglass body on powdercoated steel chassis.
Independent suspension - rubber torsion bar.
Yakima track on top to carry bikes, kayaks, etc. (rack not included)
Body roughy 82" long x 49" wide.
Weighs just 250 lbs empty - Tows like it's not even there, and its very easy to wheel around by hand. I store it upright on end in my garage.
500 lb cargo payload (150 lb rack capacity).
30" all terrain tires for >17" of clearance.

That would be a cool trick. But mine doesn't transform into a boat - we take a kayak with us for that.

I think it is a nice looking trailer too..... but I can't find on the website where the higher ground clearance version is described.

Is that actually your trailer in the photo?

Yes, that's my trailer in the photos - before I had the SMB, we had a mattress in the back of the Explorer and towed our gear in the trailer. Not as cushy as the SMB, but quite capable offroad. The manufacturer no longer makes the offroad trailer - they seem to be focusing on motorcycle trailers these days. As I recall, the offroad version had two big differences - bigger wheels/tires and a welded towing arm (instead of bolted telescoping). I'd be happy to answer any questions about it - it is a great trailer, but we fit in our SMB without needing it now.

We fit nicely in our SMB, too. But we still pull our SMB trailer behind us. For longer trips (6+ weeks) we carry extra food, bottled water, BBQ, propane tank, firewood, cold weather gear, axe, shovel, screen room and more. It costs us 1-2mpg to pull the trailer, but we dry camp for 7+ days at a time (so we aren't driving too many miles) and we find the cost of local firewood would be more than the cost of the extra fuel.

It is nice to have the extra storage for longer trips.
