Deleon - the spacing of 8 ft is my choice and has worked fine for my awning for years now. It is a little off from the Fiamma “Support Here” locations.

The 8 ft comes from my wanting to have the awning extend past the front bracket to provide rain protection when the side cargo doors are open. The front bracket has very little latitude in its location on the B pillar, similarly with the middle bracket, it goes just aft of the side cargo door opening.

I choose to have about 10 inches of awning protection overlap forward of the side cargo doors. The rear bracket was placed to be equal looking relative to the ends of the awning. The rear placement was also made considering the Aluminess Ladder mounting which also clamps onto the gutter.

Please makes sure the bracket Z clamps are seating solidly in the gutter. If needed depress or remove some of the gutter putty so the gutter lip is prominent. As you tighten the Z clamp, hold the bracket itself up to the under part of the gutter and firmly against the body of the van so it feels like it is also firmly seated. Tighten the clamp enough so when you test the bracket mounting by pulling and pushing on the bracket it feels very solid. If it does not feel solid, check the putty depth again. If the putty depth looks okay, then tighten the Z clamp bolt /nut a bit more and recheck. Once all three brackets are clamped on the gutter and feel very solid, lift the awning case up and hang the awning case (there is the “hook” part at the top of the aluminum extrusion) on the front and rear brackets. Check for alignment of the three brackets to make sure they are close. Then you can move on to the rest of the installation.

Please call me if any questions or clarification is needed. I will post up some detail pictures when I get a chance. Thxs!

NorCal - mid to late next week. I am waiting for the trucking PRO#.

I spoke with Fiamma this morning and the NorCal portion was being packed up.. It was a day later than the other two because one person was hoping to be in the NorCal buy but ended having to pass. I sent Fiamma the NorCal order in yesterday.

Perhaps I missed the latest on the arrival for the SLC group? I've been off grid for a week or so.

Saline- Tracking says Friday June 1 into Sandy, Utah, Same for SoCal and Nor Cal. I will confirm on Tuesday as I am not sure about holiday impact. I will very likely reschedule NorCal to Monday June 4, since I do not expect to be here to receive the NorCal if it is being delivered on Friday.

Hang in, thank you for your patience.

Thanks again for putting this together Ray.

Sorry I missed meeting you at the get-together yesterday. I hear I may have been enjoying a breakfast burrito right behind you at the cafe (great burrito by the way...)
