Insulation Ford e-250

Another help question. What is the best option for insulating foam or Thinsulate? Most R-value and most noise reduction?
Thank you,
Joe Futrmobl

I would suggest Thinsulate over foam.

Your not gonna get much sound deadening from thinsulate, multiple layers of thermozite will give you both or any type of Dynomate or knock off like be quite or kill mate & thinsulate can achieve what your looking for...

MSD provides excellent recommendations. For sound deadening, Dynamat works well (believe this may be what MSD means with Dynomate?).

Yup that is correct dynomate not dynamat I’d actually never pay what they want for there product since there are great alternatives @ a lot less $$$.

Yes, I covered the entire van interior walls with Noico and used thinsulate with the black scrim backing for insulation. Expensive, but probably the one if the best products out there for our applications-doesn’t hold moisture, isn’t toxic, won’t break down or get compacted and won’t warp the wall skin like spray in foam.

3M Thinsulate Acoustic/Thermal Insulation SM600L (50' x 60") https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074XLDV58..._nTM6Db39TKQZ8

Super nice to work with, easy to cut and install with a little spray adhesive. I will point out, Thinsulate does provide a fair bit of acoustic insulation as well as thermal. It will not address any sheet metal resonance or the hollow door sounds though, that’s what the Noico (or dynamat) is for, but it does provide a “blanketing” effect.

Hey REF or anyone who has done this—how much Noico do I need? I have a pass van and plan to do the walls under and around the windows. Eventually want a pop top so I won’t be doing the roof. Haven’t had a chance to jump in there and measure yet. I figure someone with experience might have a better with how much is actually needed to get in all the books and crannies. Thanks!
