Re: Looking for 4x4 close to Ohio
Its funny but when I was looking I ended up in Ohio to find a van for my home build that met my needs and I flew in and drove it back to California, it was a great first trip in it.
Some things to consider,
Rust in the northeast. That was one thing I was worried about when I bought mine, but luckily it spent its winters in a garage or in Florida.
What it was used for. Mostly highway or mostly off road.
Service records.
Did it sit a lot? Some things go bad from sitting just as they do from use.
Why the 65,000 mile limit, I'm just curious? A van could be beat to death or like new at that mileage depending on the PO.
You could reach out to forum members and or a dealership for a pre purchase inspection, thats what I did. I had it checked out and asked for detailed pictures and when it checked out I went and got it. The only thing I did on the trip was to have the tires re balanced.
Your best bet is decide what you want and do not want and make a detailed list.
Color, motor type, options, floor layout etc. Do not compromise too much from what you want or you wont be happy.
If you want a red V10 4x4 RB dont get a silver V8 2wd EB just because its in Ohio.
Pick the van that is the closest to what you need and want and check it out then have it shipped or drive it back.
That way you get what you really want like I did.
Good luck on your search...
