NEED TRANSPORT: Fuel Tank from Fletcher, NC to San Diego, CA

Hi all,

Anyone traveling from the East Coast to the West Coast? I purchased a UJOINT 4x4 fuel tank to start my 4x4 conversion. It is roughly 20" x 20" x 60" and according to the website 57 lbs. If anyone has room for it, I'd be willing to pay $150? I can be reached via site email or at (619) 917-7873.

Thanks, Chris Baffico

2 cents, I ship big crates all over the country, weekly.

My apologies if you already know all this. You or the seller can put that on a common carrier for way less than you think, and it'll get there just a day or two later than a dedicated run. Just put it on a pallet and tie it down. Take it to a local pack/ship/Fedex/Mailit place and they handle it from there. Our local company, PakMail does the pallet/tie with the carrier, so you don't even have to do that work. It is insured and cheap. Never had a fail in 20 years (FedEx and UPS... 1 fail each)

Or greyhound. Apart from a specific dimension limit they will move large items for cheap. Needs to be terminal to terminal, and on their schedule, but it's a good solution if it fits. Uh, I'd also call it a fish tank regardless of how you ship it.

Tell 'em it is a box you will be throwing away money in to on a regular basis.

Re: NEED TRANSPORT: Fuel Tank from Fletcher, NC to San Diego

Thanks for all the advice.

Chris at UJOINT goes through a broker and the cheapest he was able to find was $325...ouch! I currently have an auction on USHIP.com and have a couple of bids around $215. I'll be making a few calls based on everyone's advice. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Chris Baffico
