I took ours out and left it in the garage before heading to Baja for a few weeks - after all we never sleep up top as we have a very comfortable bed in the back.

In Bahia de Los Angeles it was so hot that I would have given anything to have that Penthouse bed to sleep in with the windows open and the cross breeze - nothing but stagnant air down below.

Still for sale. My buyer had a Ford SMB and this bed does not fit his set-up. Apparently Ford PH uses a much thinner mattress than what is installed in the Sprinter. Length and width are the same but the thickness is not. This one is 5" thick.
....so, I'm in AZ at the moment but will be traveling to Pasadena, CA in about 3 weeks. If anyone is interested let me know.

Interesting...my home-brew PH bed is 4" foam and a 1" base frame and it fits up there with the top down....Ford setup.

Something may have changed throughout the years. I forgot what year his Ford was. Anyways, we're learning here.

I don't know what you mean by hard part, but here's some photos I just took to see if they help you. Let me know if you have other questions.

Your PH bed looks like it is sitting on a 'lift kit' of sorts. Is this block (looks to be about 1.25" wide x 2.25" tall or so, covered in fabric) attached to the penthouse frame or is it attached to the bottom of the bed?

That block that you are referring to is attached to the bed. It is 1.5 x 2.75".

The bed is 39.5" wide.
