I seem to recall that these were named "Sportsmobiles" at that time, but not officially.
While I was very young during that era
my parents were all about Cadillacs and I spent a fair amount of time with them in the Torrance, California Cadillac dealer while my folks tried to decide between the Sedan de Ville in the "standard" trim or shell out the big bucks for the "de Elegance" version
. Why not just pop for the Seville, dad?
There was also a wagon version too. I remember the models were targeted at the upper-class cowboy at the time. Yup. Lots of those types in the SoCal beach communities during the '70's
