Yup, that's pretty much exactly what I want... but way more than I can spend right now. Best of luck.

Maye an opportunity for Saabman or AndrewST to buy it from you if you bring it across the pond.

Herb... That's an idea but what do you do with the pleasure of driving the van on the US trails before taking it back?

I am doing just the other way around. Selling my cars in Switzerland to come to the states

Blizzard, you could take it with you and register it in Austria easily if it is the same procedure as in Switzerland
Good luck with the sale,

if I didn't allready have a Van... but AndrewST is correct it isn't that hard to import vehicles from the US to Europe... and as it is a house move it is generally a facilitated procedure...

Re: RB50 E350 Diesel 2007 for sale

Good thoughts on the import to Austria! I have considered it, but am concerned about there being no real use for its abilities there. The cost of shipping it and the cost of fuel over there need to be offset by more than the cool factor. Is there anywhere that I could actually use it. Every place I am familiar with is either perfectly manicured or closed to vehicles.

Re: RB50 E350 Diesel 2007 for sale

I have gotten many e-mails regarding location. Currently the rig is in Iowa, but has generally been based out of Ketchum, ID. SMB has drivers that can deliver anywhere I am told. I have also included the build sheet here. It does not include the Extreme Magnum on board compressor, which was added later. I have been getting a lot of e-mails, so it will likely find a good home soon!

Cheers,
Blizzard

You are right with that if you think central europa... that depends on you travel destinations and desire.

Here is my feeling of the situation over here:
Austria: don't know so much the situation there, might be some places but remember it to be somewhat restricted.
Switzerland: some places available but written in the law you are not allowed of paved roads.
France: Written in the law you can use public roads dirt and paved. Have to avoid the touristic areas in the tourist season and near the big cities. Plenty places to go.
Spain: restricted in some parts otherwise freedom.
Portugal: restricted in some parts otherwise freedom.
Italy: dont know but assume the south would have opportunities
Germany: restricted
Greece: freedom and you can end up right at the beach even in summer.

The northern countries (Norway, Sweden, Finland) offer from what I heard quite a freedom of travelling.

If you think of eastern europa, right next to Austria, there are lots of places to go and not yet developped so I think that would be loads of places to go: Croatia, Roumania, Bulgaria, Poland, Russia,...

England and that part, I will leave Saabman talk about it

Regarding fuel prices, yes in Europa around 2x the US price. It is a choice...
This kind of vehicule is normally used over here for holidays or week-end not as main car.

Cost of shipping it:
Sorry it is metric
2009 price per cubic meter: $60.-
let's assume the SMB is: 6m long, 2m wide, 2.5m high = 30 m3
30m3 x $60 = $1800.- to ship from east coast to Hamburg

Sorry for hi-jacking your add
