Everything is approved for use in CA by CARB. The stock catalytic converters are still installed, that's all they care about on that. And I have the paperwork on the spacer from CARB.

The only issue getting it smogged is I had to go to a "STAR" approved smog place as the V10 is a federally approved emissions vehicle (as opposed to CA) so the regular smog places don't know what the heck to do with it.

I recently purchased a 1997 SMB EB with the V10 and drove it from Oregon to Montana and experienced similar fuel economy (12.9 mpg) I too was pleased and impressed! And man how I enjoy the relative silence compared to my old (sold) 7.3! Sure like the looks of this rig!

Had buyers, but turns out they needed a loan for some of the money, and that hasn't appeared to work out.

Several out of state (and out of country) folks asked about a "Pre-Purchase Inspection", so I brought it to my local (professional and cautious) auto shop today (http://www.bwservicecenter.com/). They suggested replacing radiator hoses and serpentine belt due to age, as well as windshield wipers and found a couple blown bulbs. I had them do all the work they suggested, and it now has a clean bill of health.
