Whaaaaaat? Steve, you and your family seemed so happy with your rig when you stopped by Anza Borrego on Saturday, and now you're selling?

Hate to see you sell it, but good luck with the sale. Good looking rig.

Re: For Sale: 2008 Chevrolet Duramax 4x4 SMB EB-50

Herb,

Thanks. The girls and I love the rig but my wife wants a bit more room. Anything to get us out more. We want to stay in the category but get (gulp) a truck/cabover camper. I don't use the SMB enough to have such a specialized vehicle so I want something that is a bit more vanilla plus let someone else benefit from the SMB.

Steve

How is that more room? I'd 4x4 a small fiberglass back B first... sigh, if they only still made Chinook.

Still, we'll love ya even in a teardrop.

Huh? Packing into a even a crew cab for long drives is way worse than a van.

As Jage mentioned.... How about a Class B?

Dynaquest makes some nice ones with or w/out cabovers. I like this touring setup:

BTW - Good luck with the sale. The DuraMax and Ford front end is a great combo. (I'm not a fan of GMs IFS for anything other than snowy roads).

Re: For Sale: 2008 Chevrolet Duramax 4x4 SMB EB-50

You guys are killing me! In terms of room, apologies for my poor articulation. What I meant to say was that my wife and girls would prefer a dedicated WC (seems like a waste of space to me, but what do I know). Also, while I have been known to be able to sleep anywhere, anytime, any orientation, my wife would like the extra comfort of a full size cabover bed. If that gets us out on the road more often then I am willing to make that compromise as that is why we bought the van in the first place.

But, I know I will regret it and there's a reason I get stopped at least once a week with 'coolest vehicle ever!', photo taking by the rig, etc. To that end, if someone does not make an offer within a reasonable range of my asking price, then I have a built-in excuse to keep it!

On the other hand, carringb, I have dually envy from your rig and am looking at 1-ton duallies (prefer Cummins pre-6.7, we'll see). That class-B you posted photos of is awesome, but we need something a bit more industrial for Baja.

Jacko, thanks and right back at you, bud!

We can make it 4X4 for you. I've been playing with the idea of converting a Class B to 4X4 for a few months now, simple matter. But, I think the next project will be a 4XSprinter - we've been searching the internet for a Beta vehicle.
