Re: 2008 E-350 5.4L V8 4x4 "camperized" SMB poptop
Thanks, Herb.
I agree about agreements being agreements.
I've kept a few I wished I hadn't made, but I think overall I have been rewarded for sticking to my word even when I realized after making the deal that it was bad for me.
In any case, I've had three offers already. One was fishing, the other was quite reasonble but a little lower than I'll go this early in the selling process and the third was last night's offer. And that's without really promoting the rig other than telling a few friends and putting it up here.
When you look at how sparse the pickings are for Sportsmobiles and their ilk, it's pretty clear that there's a very interested market. I bought the 2008 (the one I'm selling) after looking for a SMB for a year and not finding what I wanted. After another year of looking, I ran across the 2005 I just bought, which is closer to what I wanted to buy in the first place. If I find something even closer to whatever my ideal is, I'll buy that and sell the 2005. I mean, what the heck, right? In the meantime, the 2008 was a great interim rig and frankly I would have been perfectly happy with it for much longer. After camping in the 2005 with the RB50 interior last weekend, I realized how little difference the official SMB-built interior makes to my actual use. I mean, it's nice and all, but so is the 2008. And the 2008 is a better offroad rig, since it has lockers on both axles. A new owner will be very happy with camping in it this summer for sure.
