SOLD--Sportsmobile RV 1998 Dodge Ram Van Extended-body B-3500
Camper Van Conversion by Sportsmobile
Dodge Ram Van B-3500, 1998, Super-Extended Body (the longest stock available, real storage space, 18.5 feet overall, LWB 127.6 in), Pop-top. 119k miles. 2WD 5.9L(360cid) V8 EFI Engine; always used Mobile 1 SynOil. 4spd Auto Trans 3.73 gear ratio. Tow Hitch and trailer wiring. Brand new running boards just installed 2009. Fully up-graded suspension 2007: heavier duty springs all around with Koni shocks and a 2 inch lift. New windshield 2007. New off-road highway-friendly Nitto tires 2007 (have only 10k miles; great condition). New batteries 2008 (engine and cab auxiliary). Transmission service and brake inspection (all fine) 2009. Full upgrade sound system 2009: CD/MP3 in-dash player with detachable faceplate, with iPod USB port and standard mini-plug as well; all 6 speakers replaced/upgraded. I have replaced the interior lighting with LED's to brighten and conserve battery life when camping and not wanting to run generator. As well a heavy duty roof rack with included Thule SpaceCase, extra large size. I use it for all the sleeping bedding and long stuff, such as kayak paddles, fishing poles, skiis, etc. It holds alot ant the roof opens fine if total load is 100 lbs or less.) The Thule SpaceCase occupies half of the rack space, so the other half is available for surfboards or kayaks. I installed a ladder on the rear for easy roof access. As well, an installed side awning.
Everything works perfectly. Interior and exterior in very good condition. It runs and drives flawlessly. 13-16 MPG. It is a very solid and reliable vehicle. Original owner used it lightly and I did up-grades in the short time I have had it. I have recently purchased a Dodge Sprinter Class C, and at times think of keeping the Sportsmobile, for use in desert-mountain (it is great on rough dirt roads) and Baja trips, because it is super reliable and easy to repair, and again, it is great on rough dirt roads. But two camper vans is one too many, so it is for sale...All reasonable offers considered.
