Ya, I am glad I found one local that sorta already fit what I wanted because it's turning out to be exactly what I wanted.

The other thing I forgot that's also a big plus is the black/tan combo. Hard to find and I think it looks super good.

Definitely take a hard look at this van either way. I wish I could buy it.
I have never looked at MG so far but will do so and take MG and UJOR specs to mechanic to discuss when I get a van.

Sent you a pm if you don't mind commenting? Thank you!

Not sure what you're saying here? You prefer the 5 speed for driveability, or they're easier to convert for some reason? I've never heard anything about the latter.

Ha ha I guess both.

I definitely prefer them for drivability, quick starts if I need to along with easy cruising on the freeway.

The 5 speed transmission doesn't need to be removed in order to get it ready for a transfer case. I am not sure all of the details but from what I understand its sort of a plug and play type deal before you attach the transfer case.

The TorqShift 5R110 has a rear tail shaft and housing that can be easily exchanged from 2wd to 4wd without removing the transmission or tearing it down.

And for referenceI have found our EB v10,3.73, and 4r100 to be plenty fast off the line and never felt I needed a lower gear. The 7.3/3.73/4r100 without a tune feels like it could use another gear compared to the V10. Adding a tuner resolved the off line sluggishness. I am guessing the 5.4/5r110 is probably a nice combo. I would have liked the 3/4/5 gearing to have been where the difference was)

4r100 gear ratios:
1st - 2.71
2nd - 1.54
3rd - 1.0
4th - .71

5r110 gear ratios:
1st - 3.11
2nd - 2.2
3rd - 1.54
4th - 1.0
5th - .71

Good info from all. Owner said the wheels are wide with 'road towing' tires on it, I'll find out exactly what. But what do I need to consider for wheels/tires if I convert v10 to 4x4?

I know Quigley told me the other day a ford needs 16" wheels up sized but a GM would not...
Thanks

Depends on who you go with for 4X4 conversion and what front end components are swapped in. Quigley and others? famously (at least used to) keep the E series 8X6.5 bolt pattern making it difficult to find off the shelf parts like front rotors without the need to re-drill them to fit. Many others keep the donor axle 8X170 and convert the rear 8X6.5 with spacers/adapters making it much easier to find parts. I just had a super duty front end put in my project van with rear spacers/adapters to fit 17" 8X170 with 285/70/17 tires.

I agree here, go with the 8x170, rear spacers and 285/70/17s. Thats what I did and am very happy with it.
