WTB - blank canvas econoline or a budget membermobile

Hello~ new to the forum!

I'm looking for advice on finding a clean slate RB Ford 2003-2009--

I've been browsing craigslist and ebay for good price/mileage/year cargo style. Tried a publicsurplus site too, but that didn't seem discounted especially.

Any pro tips for finding a good deal with this type of vehicle?

Also, I'd potentially buy someone's beauty/beast here. Most I can spend is $16,000 for now, but I'd rather save some of that for features (bubble top or pop-up top, solar set up, maintenance/repairs, etc). This seems like a nice one for my situation, though I'd prefer to have less miles and don't need any plumbing or kitchen appliances. http://www.sportsmobileforum.com/for...ine-17704.html

Regards,
Planit

Where are you located? Are you willing to travel (sometimes very quickly) if the right van comes along?

Definitely. I will be couch-surfing & camping with my backpacking gear if I don't find a van in the next two weeks.

Right now I'm in Florida visiting the parents, establishing residency down here, and also looking at vans.

I would fly anywhere if the van is right! I would uber 500 hundred miles, and I would uber 500 more.

Look for local auction house companies that handle city or county vehicles, usually properly maintained and in good shape, that's how I found my project van, an '05 V10 15 pass with 80K. I'll keep an eye out here for the next one.

Have you checked CL in ATL? It seems that's all that's available around here. I use the following search on CL (copy and paste into CL):

(econoline | e150 | e250 | e350 | e-150 | e-250 | e-350 | "ford van") -razor -aerostar -freestyle -mercedes -windstar -freestar

You can also search CL for all areas using Searchtempest.com, which may help locating a van for you in a defined geographical area.
