WTB bumpers

Looking for used Trojan bumpers or something like them, to fit 2008 Ford E250, like the ones Sportsmobile sells, front and rear, swing-away tire carrier and swing-away jerry can basket. Thanks.

Make sure you call Dave from Aluminess to check if he has any deals. Sometimes, he has one offs' or refurbished bumpers that he can offer with a deep discount. Good luck.

Re: WTB bumpers

I am seriously thinking of switching out the new Aluminess bumpers for one that has a rear winch and the larger box. Currently have the generator sized box with the door opening sideways vs down and a rail around the top for jerry cans/wood/ect.

Part of the Disabled Explorers process is looking for the right solution.

Let me figure out a price (it wasn't fully donated) and take some pics.

Re: WTB bumpers

I need to powerwash the rig after getting back from Baja friday, actually with me working every night I can I think I will offer some cash to my younger son as he loves to run the gun

I am super happy with the Aluminess bumper I worked hard in testing for the FJ Cruiser and the ones on the SMB are built bigger & stronger.
The only reason I want to switch is to have the rear winch as a recovery option and to get the bigger rear storage box as the wheelchair friendly layout lacks space.

Look for pics Monday or Tues.
However my timeframe for replacement will also depend a bit on Aluminess as the rig needs to be at the San Diego Auto Show Dec 30th and then we are taking a Wounded Warrior on the Devils Hi-way Jan 22-24.

Re: WTB bumpers

Put me down in the interested list too!

I was going to join a group buy that fell apart, now I am on my own looking for a set.

Rear needs to have swing away & either galley box or baja box.

Thx

Re: WTB bumpers

The Aluminess boxes are interchangable... don't pass on a deal just because the box isn't quite right. Of course I say that and I've been meaning to upgrade my tray to a box for some years now.

I did that a year ago, replacing my little used Baja Basket with a standard Baja Box and an attached Thule bike rack. It was a bit pricey at nearly $1K and Sportsmobile didn't send any instructions on how to atttach the hardware. I studied pics of Sportys with the bike rack and managed to cobble everything together.

I will post my pics of this process one of these days, if it is any help to folks.
