Came across this site while searching for auto racing videos, Best of Rally Live. Current videos show the Rally Sweden 2013. Did not realize that they ran rallies in the snow. Looks like great fun. Was surprised to see the large number of people lining the track.

World Rallye Championship has two rounds usually on snow: Rallye of Monte-Carlo and Rallye of Sweden. There is allways a lot of local people following every Special Stages...

I went to Lapland (Finland) two years ago this week to an Ice Racing School taught by my friend Armin Schwarz, former World Rally Champion from Germany. We raced in Subaru WRX STi, on solid ice tracks. The tires have long studs in them and the traction is awesome on the ice, but with accumulated blowing snow on the ice it is a very different story. Reading the ice is a big part of the sport. It was a great experience.
