Drive the Valley of the Gods from west to east, so to speak. Camp before you make the 90-degree bend in the road, somewhere among the buttes and rugged deep gorges.

While on the subject of Utah how about winter?

1der Girl and I are headed out tomorrow for our annual Epic Ski Trip. First stop is Alta and Snowbird. We have been told the Park and Ride Lot near the Alta Rec Center can be used for overnight "sort of". Anyone have any other suggestions or a driveway we can borrow? Thxs!

For those that know the Arches / Canyonland area - how would this free BLM dispersed camping be, as a base? to spend 2 nights. While exploring by van days.

Klondike Bluffs Road -free BLM dispersed camping

supposedly not too busy.

nice.

23 min drive to Moab.

https://www.campendium.com/klondike-bluff-road

GPS:*38.7536, -109.7296

supposedly: "....The road its self is pretty rocky in spots, but accessible in any vehicle....

*.... It was a rocky ride for the first mile or so but the road became more graded as we drove to our site.

the first 1/10 to 1/4 mile of road from 191 were a bit rough, but otherwise, aside from a few rocks, easy to navigate with our 25' trailer...."

thanks,

John

That area is generally a zoo on weekends during the busy fall and spring months but might not be too bad in early summer. Just don't show up at 5pm on Friday and expect to find an easy to navigate spot with your trailer.

1der,

Salt Lake has had a lot of snow recently. This week will be a good time to ski. You’re welcome to use my driveway. I’ll send you a PM with more info.

Hello John

Have you noticed on TV lately they are really touting Moab Can you imagine how crowded its gonna be this summer I take it you have checked out Valley of the Gods. It's best east to west. The first 7 miles are the best. After that the road is kinda rough but if you want go out that end you might as well go up the Moki Dugway. Spectacular View Switchbacks are easy
