Burningman group

Is anyone planning on taking their SMB to burningman this year? My wife and I will be going and wondered if anyone else wanted to camp near us?? I saw a couple saar year.

I would be interested in seeing the weirdness of it all. I understand tickets are done on a lottery this year. How much does it cost and how does one sign up?

Yes, Rob, I carried a briefcase to high school in the 60's. I'm one of the original Nerds. That's why I'd like to see Burning Man. But I probably would only last an hour or two.

Yeah, bit Otto wanted to go this year, and it was Aug 29-Sep 1 this year. So, unless he can borrow Stewie's time machine he will have to wait until next year.

To clarify. I went this year. I meant last august. We are planning on going again. Kinda hippie but more into survival and love learning about people and new things, it was crazy this past year but we will be planning on going every year. last year we got tier 3 @($320$) Each. Here is What I got about the lottery via email -> The big news: tickets to Burning Man 2012 will be offered via a lottery system. This solution offers a two-fold benefit: it eliminates the annual ticket sales rush by spreading out registration over time (no more sitting in "line" all day, no more getting kicked out of the queue, no sudden unwieldy server demand!) -- and it begins to address the challenges of scarcity. We are also intent upon creating a balance of opportunity across a few months time.

We'll have more details coming very soon (including deadlines and prices) but here's a summary of the major changes to how tickets will be obtained:

- You'll first register for the ticket lottery during a 2-week open registration period. At that time, you'll declare which of the pricing tiers you'd be willing to pay, and provide a valid credit card number.
- After the registration period, we will run separate lotteries for each ticket tier. If your name is selected, at this point your credit card will be billed, and you'll receive a ticket confirmation.
- There will be several consecutive lottery rounds.
- You will only be able to purchase tickets from one lottery
- Yhere will be a limited number of tickets per person
- Ticket fulfillment will be held until early summer.

Ya'all have a Burning Good Time. The Regs and Fees are the reason I gave up Hunting in Favor of Poaching. The fines are cheaper than the Tags.
