Re: Campfire

Have fun Eric. Drove the SMB to work today but it hasn't seen the woods for several months. I think the Tetons are calling me. Soon!!

Re: Campfire

Thanks everybody. It was a sweet weekend to get away. I love winter camping. I drank too much, ate even more, burnt a lot of wood and relaxed. I found some absolutely great sites pretty close to home. I chose to stay in a small CG (8 sites) this time because it was deserted and I wanted a table but I spotted about 10 good boondock sites right on the river while exploring the area. Good times.

Dave, believe it or not, I left home with 1/4 tank, accidentally passed the gas station where I had planned to stop, and decided not to turn around since I had a full gas can with me. I guess that's how bad I was ready to get there. I came home still with 1/8 of a tank! The place I camped is less than an hour from home and I can't believe I've never checked it out before. Just found it in the Jeep a couple weeks ago.

This is about 40' feet down the hill from camp. This river was loud enough where you could hardly hear a car pass by, which makes it my new favorite 'close to home' spot. Oh, family showed up late Saturday and made my weekend complete

Re: Campfire

You can't ask for a better spot than that! Very nice.
Makes me feel like I'm at my spot on the Merced River.
