On the flip side, I have a vehicle that I bought new that lists multiple incidents for a rear end tap that resulted in no damage (other, at fault party was mildly psychotic, so I had my insurance talk to them rather than dealing with them directly). Then there's a 2"x4" bit of paint work that's been holding up fine for years. It's listed as a partial respray.
That car is probably near impossible to sell at this point. It has some other issues (normal for it's age), but in relation to the stuff listed, there's no damage or real diminished value, other than on paper.
What that probably means is that if you find a vehicle that looks ugly on paper, it may still be worth looking at it you can figure out how to read between the lines, and you're even more likely to get a good deal on it.
