Chipmunk, Field Mice Intrusion

Using Mike's suggestion of using a bright light to find the holes, my door seals do not seem to be a problem.

Crossing my fingers that the one hole I found was the entry point. I guess I will just have to take a trip to test it out!

Anyone else making progress or have further suggestions on the rodent front?

I know this is an old thread, but the issues are the same. I've been dealing with intermittent mouse intrusions and may now have a chipmunk coming in. I have tried electronic sound emitters , scent away, and snap traps. Convinced snap traps work the best for mice. Anyway, I'd much rather keep them out then deal with them inside. Today I found a HUGE hole where Sportsmobile cut through the inner fender wall to run the water line. I think this access point allows the "critters" in and then all they have to do is jump out where Sportsmobile left a large gap in the van's side for the heater. Any chance somebody has tackled this intrusion point? I would love to just shove some copper/brass scrub pads in there, but something the size of a chipmunk would probably just yank it out.

Man I'd take a small square of sheet metal and some tin snips and cut out two pieces - one for the top half - one for the bottom - to fit around that plumbing fitting. Then screw and/or epoxy them to the body to cover the big gap and fill the remaining gaps with some expanding foam. Should work.

Thanks for the suggestion Joe, that's pretty much what I did. Cut a square piece of tin from a piece of ducting. Drilled a hole and did just a little trimming for the protruding screws on the water fitting. Decided to just apply a liberal amount of silicon to the tin and "smush" the whole thing the the van's fender well. I'm pretty sure the silicon will hold without adding any additional holes The remaining gap(s) are only about 3/32" so I think I'll leave them for now. These uninvited guests are a true annoyance.

I think there is another thread out there on this topic but I can't find it.
I like the traps linked above. They give you the option of deciding the critters fate.

I've used coarse steel wool and then pumped low volume expanding window/door foam into it. Critters don't like steel when they chew into the foam. Use brass wool pot scrubbers for areas where rust is a concern.
