Daily Driver?

Reading an article this am in Outside Magazine and saw the stat below. I am surprised by that number. Who on here uses theirs as a daily driver?

Re: Daily Driver?

I did for two years before I retired. But....my commute was only a mile each way.

Re: Daily Driver?

I suspect this is a matter of definition. I'll actually use the van when it rains for a day (rare in CA these days) and I don't want to pull an otherwise clean car out of the garage. I wouldn't do this with a class A or C motorhome. So in that sense it's more of an every-day vehicle.

That doesn't mean I think it's a reasonable daily driver. It's huge, heavy with significant blind spots, so I need to take it slow and use extra care, since safety for both me and those around me is reduced compared to a normal commuter car. I'm not sure if a sprinter would change some of that, perhaps.

Re: Daily Driver?

Daily driver doesn't fit for me (I have a company vehicle for driving to and from work) but I do use my van more than my pickup or car unless it's a short drive somewhere.

How many SMB forums???

Re: Daily Driver?

Our van is our only Personal Vehicle. But, I walk to work or if I am late I ride a bike.

They probably meant "owners", but still. Proofreading/Fact check fail.

I was thinking they meant forum members or maybe topics.

How many SMBs are built each year?

edit: I used to drive mine to work once or twice weekly.

Re: Daily Driver?

Not me. Mine is a bit of a pain to get out so it's not really convenient for me to hop in & go. I commute to work & do most errands by bicycle (I have a cargo bike in my "quiver"). The SMB only gets out when needed. I do get an itch to drive it though but I only get 9 mpg so I resist.
