Re: Deleted Facebook!!

Congrats! I've never had one, never wanted one, certainly talked a few people into deleting theirs when they ask why I want no part in it. Scariest part for me is job applications now a days want your facebook to background check you, so if you don't have a facebook, you must be hiding something and they won't hire you. I'm 28, finding work is tough enough without having to expose your personal life to the world.

Re: Deleted Facebook!!

I deleted about a year ago. I joined only to keep up with family but what I found this it's just a stage for religious and political opinions.

No thanks

Re: Deleted Facebook!!

Do not have one. Like to keep my personal life private. I prefer this group of SMB minded people. Thanks to all of you.

Re: Deleted Facebook!!

The only reason I joined was that a mapping vender was developing a product and stated that the only way we could get product updates was to join. I mulled it over and begrudginly joined. Two days later the vender recanted his policy and I was stuck with a Facebook account. I never visit it, update it, and ignore requests to do so. Maybe I will follow your lead and take the bold leap to delete the account. A few forums is enough to keep track of. So what the heck is a hash-tag anyway?

Re: Deleted Facebook!!

As of yesterday, I did not delete my Facebook & Twitter accounts but disconnected from them. I was mostly lurking to see what my grown kids were up to but decided I did not need to know all the shallow and stupid things they were interested in and following. I will just have direct communications with them via phone calls or email instead.

Re: Deleted Facebook!!

32 yr old here, I unplugged from FB a week or so ago. I found that when looking for simplification, there was just too much not adding value to life and instead detracting from it.

I have yet to delete it. Does it get deleted? If you can rejoin by just logging back in, does that mean they just keep your info sitting, is it still accessible publicly or hidden?

Hidden.
I think I didn't try to log back in I'm thinking it wouldn't be that easy.
People can search for you on FB but you will not come up.

Re: Deleted Facebook!!

congrats ron! ive been hearing more and more people doing the same thing over the last year.

i never made an account. checked it out when it first came out, but it just reminded me of high school and i stayed clear. wife was a major junky forever, but called her out for announcing to the world when we wouldnt be at home for an extended amount time and why i didnt like it and she set her account to private and only associates with close friends and family now (for the most part). plus she doesnt have time for it when she could be trying to win another level of candycrush...ahem.

only thing i feel like im missing out on is photos. a few of my buddies have gotten really good behind a camera and thats where they show most everybody thier newest snaps. i always eventually see them, but gotta listen to our circles rave about them till then

down to about 3 forums too. id also say that the majority of activity on those forums are from down time at work.

i do fall slave to cl though. when im on the hunt for something, that damn page can make time dissappear.

Re: Deleted Facebook!!

Never really had one. I always get hung up on the part where they insist I use my real name.
