Disabled Explorers to be on CBS News Monday 4/26?

Imagine my surprise when watching the end of the CBS Nightly News tonight. They finished a human interest story about this Rainman-like hardware store guy in New York, and Katie Couric asked Steve Hartman what is on tap for next week. He answered (something like), "When most people think of a disabled accessible van, they don't of this..." and then there is a quick video showing what I'm pretty sure was the Disabled Explorers WAVE van. So, keep an eye out for it at the tail end of the CBS News on Monday 4/26, or check out the story here afterward.

actually the kind words & congrats really should go to all the great support from the forums, I can only work so much overtime to pay for it all so every bit of help in the way of time, knowledge or money really makes a difference.

Crazy day of filming that included an 18yr girl with a spinal cord injury driving the WAVE, the trailer for the Trackchair breaking a hitch pin, and me breaking the foot off my prosthetic leg! Bummer is they didn't get the foot part on camera

I love my job as a nurse, and I will continue to do it no matter how much DE grows. But it would be nice to be able to give DE the time it deserves instead of working so many extra shifts.

Oh and the Gizmodo article was fun as all the tech on the rig caught their attention.

Dude, I would never say breaking a leg is awesome, but breaking your freaking prosthetic off? That's freaking awesome! Do they come in Rockwell 2½s?

This week having our first chick drive the van was beyond fun, she wants to go to Baja and beyond.
