Earthroamer Comparison

Had the opportunity to park next to an Earthroamer in Gunnison, CO. Snapped some shots for comparison- I'm amazed at how much smaller the SMB is in every way- my tires are 34". Also this Earthroamer is for sale, included the 411 at the end.

The first time I saw one of those I was blown away on how big it was.

Re: Earthroamer Comparison

Tom, no- just happened to park next door for an hour at the Commerce Center. I would have liked to talk pros and cons of the build and show off the SMB.

Re: Earthroamer Comparison

The size difference is huge, as well as the price.

I had the opportunity to see inside one a couple years ago at the Desert Rendezvous. The interior build quality is my guess where a great deal of the price comes from. The fit and finish were impeccable, much like a high end sailboat. Way better than my SMB, not even in comparable in my opinion. Granted though my SMB is a 1995, so construction techniques may have changed since then...

My wife didn't like the lack of windows. She didn't think that there were enough areas to view the natural surroundings you're parked in to enjoy.

Re: Earthroamer Comparison

The quality and room is nice. If they made a pop top version of those I'd be more impressed. For my wants, the overall height would keep me out of places I visit. Maybe tow a Jeep?

Deal-killer for Christine for sure. We once looked at really great homebuild Sprinter(before we got our van) only rear door windows... I thought is was great, she said noooo way!
