Re: FLASH !!! Wilson just got HIT!!!!!!
Well gee, since this has turned into a thread about USAA, guess I gotta weigh in. We've had USAA for many years, both here and in Europe, and have always had good results. Of course, nobody is perfect and there are always people who don't tell you what you need to know in a timely manner. In insurance matters experience teaches that it pays to call every few days and ask for an update. My favorite USAA story involves a relative who had his US specs Mercedes stolen while he was posted in Germany. USAA cut him a check for the full replacement value of the car. They then contacted him MONTHS later to tell him that the German criminal police had just impounded his car during the arrest of a car theft ring. It had been converted from US specs to German specs and was about to be smuggled out of Germany. The car legally belonged to USAA. My relative wanted it back, and USAA said give us back the money and it's yours. So he did so, and USAA told him the car was considered covered by them without interruption. So they turned around and paid (a lot of $$) to put the car back into the condition it had enjoyed before it was stolen. I'm not saying this always happens or that it always will, but this experience is typical of those we've had with USAA, although happily our problems have not been this major!
