Hate to be a downer on such a nice weekend, but we found out Thursday that one of our dogs has an inoperable tumor on her spine. She's had problems with her back legs for a month or two now, and many x-rays (all negative) and pain killers later, she kept getting progressively worse. She then had an ultrasound which was negative, and Thursday, my wife braved pre-Holiday weekend traffic to drive to two and a half hours to Tustin to have an MRI done on our dog. Within hours, we had the bad news. We do have an appointment Monday with an oncologist at the local vet emergency clinic to see if there are any options, but the signs are not good. She's too young for this at nine years old. She's the tan dog on the left.
Asumming things go the way we expect/fear, we then have to find a way to explain it to out 3 year old son, and then deal with another dog that already exhibits separation anxiety.
Sorry for this comepltely off-topic post, but I just need to get it off my chest.
